Sex offence cases now take up half of all crown court time: Long trials involving mobile phone evidence are straining the criminal justice system

Judges sat for an extra 7,500 days last year and digital evidence is now taking up hours of time in sex offence trials, such as that of ex Sunderland footballer Cabral, who was cleared of rape yesterday.
